Aerialscape 1
1996
Stone Mosaic (8,600 sf)
Artery Plaza
Bethesda, Maryland
These large rooftops are a canvas waiting to be utilized.
In 1986, Montgomery County Maryland created a Beautification program to encourage public works in new construction.
This rooftop is an innovative solution to underutilized areas. The concept arose from sand paintings of our first peoples.
This scale provides visibility for adjacent structures presenting an integrated functional, and maintenance free, artwork utilizing only natural stone and divider strips.

River Run
1992
Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission
Laurel, Maryland
The Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission participated in the Maryland Beautification Program. As the region’s largest water provider, a reference to rivers was a natural choice.
The mirrored images which extend across both adjacent roofs speak to dry river beds with natural gravels from the area.
