For centuries, mosaic has been revered as an art form of the highest caliber.

The medium offers a durable richness of color and texture equal to painting.

The secret of its intense beauty lies in the intricacy of the handwork involved. 

 

‘Phase Changes’ Mosaic directly faces substantial traffic on Connecticut Ave. at the Chevy Chase Lake Purple Line Plaza. Sited on the abutment wall supporting the bridges for both the Capital Crescent Trail and Purple Line Light Rail it is visible to all travelers. This colorful and intricate mosaic is 10’ H x 17’ W,  provides a bright distraction referencing the original lake about 100 years ago.
